On-Site Survey
Does your Lot meet ADA specifications?

Virtually all parking facilities for commercial buildings are covered by the
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA),which took effect in January, 1992.

It requires a minimum number of Handicap-Accessible parking stalls
depending on the size of the parking lot, and
a minimum number of van-accessible parking spaces depending on the number
of handicap-accessible spaces.

It also requires :

Specific Signage and Specific Placement of those signs

Unobstructed Access Routes

Access Aisles leading from the parking stalls to the sidewalk or other access route

Use of Curb Ramps

These are only a few of the many requirements parking lots must meet
to comply with Federal ADA Regulations.

Penalties for not complying could include :

A Court could order you to bring the parking lot into compliance

Civil penalties not to exceed $50,000 for the first violation and
$100,000 for the second violation

Monetary damages to the person or organization suing the property owner
